The Power SG Demand Dispatch and Demand Response™ solution enables utilities, municipalities, public and private enterprises to actively manage demand to avoid high cost peak. It allows our customers to substantially reduce even eliminate blackouts and brown-outs, reduce or eliminate current peak power purchases and enable customers to manage their load and monthly budget. We can even create a load resource within the customer service area to sell back to the grid.

Through the Power SG Network Monitoring and Management™ and Power SG Rapid Fault Locator™ solutions we are able to detect, analyse and locate distribution grid issues, outages and the causes. All our software monitors real-time information provided by communication equipment, utility devices and sensors located throughout the distribution grid. Faults can be immediately registered and an alarm with precise location information generated allowing our customer to drastically improve day-to-day distribution grid management, avoid or swiftly respond to outages, enables dispatch of the right crews and restore power to affected areas even before the first customer calls.

The Power SG Building Efficiency Management™ (BEM) solution is a complete facilities monitoring and management system for residential, commercial and industrial facility managers and building owners. It enables more effective management of a portfolio of facilities such as electric, gas, water, and other assets and services from a central location real-time to improve efficiency. Complete visibility is provided into our customers energy use and can result in meaningful energy savings through conservation efforts. BEM proactively monitors services usage and can uncover additional savings opportunities by detecting abnormal consumption and unexpected losses as they occur.

Transformers are an essential asset and critical to the reliability of a utilities grid. Severon (a BPL Global company) On-line Transformer Monitoring, through dissolved gas analysis (DGA), allows customers to be able to lower maintenance costs and extend the life of their transformers while deferring capital expenditure. In addition, through BPL Africa’s Network Operation Center (NOC) a true preventative maintenance solution can be utilized by alerting field engineers by email and SMS of any potential problems.
